00:00:00,000 --> 00:00:06,600
I don't have to tell you things are bad. Everybody knows things are bad. We're at war. People

2
00:00:06,600 --> 00:00:11,280
are out of work or scared of losing their job. The dollar buys a nickel's worth. Banks

3
00:00:11,280 --> 00:00:15,240
are going bust. Shopkeepers keep a gun under the counter. Looters are running wild in

4
00:00:15,240 --> 00:00:19,080
the street and there's nobody anywhere who seems to know what to do and there's no

5
00:00:19,080 --> 00:00:26,280
end to it. We know the air is unfit to breathe. Our food is unfit to eat. And we sit watching

6
00:00:26,280 --> 00:00:31,280
our TVs while some local newscaster tells us that today we had 15 homicides and

7
00:00:31,280 --> 00:00:36,480
63 violent crimes if that's the way it's supposed to be. We all know things are

8
00:00:36,480 --> 00:00:42,360
bad. Worse than bad, they're crazy. It's like everything everywhere is going

9
00:00:42,360 --> 00:00:46,440
crazy. So we don't go out anymore. We sit in the house and slowly the world

10
00:00:46,440 --> 00:00:51,000
we're living in is getting smaller. And all we say is please at least leave us

11
00:00:51,000 --> 00:00:54,280
alone in our living rooms. Let me have my cell phone and my TV and my

12
00:00:54,280 --> 00:01:00,680
PlayStation. I won't say anything. Just leave us alone. Well, I'm not going to

13
00:01:00,680 --> 00:01:06,960
leave you alone. I want you to get mad. I don't want you to protest. I don't want

14
00:01:06,960 --> 00:01:10,040
you to riot. I don't want you to write your congressman because I wouldn't know

15
00:01:10,040 --> 00:01:13,480
what to tell you to write. I don't know what to do about the national

16
00:01:13,480 --> 00:01:16,520
debt and Katrina and the war on terror and the crime in the street. All I know

17
00:01:16,520 --> 00:01:21,760
is that first you've got to get mad. You've got to say I'm a human being.

18
00:01:21,800 --> 00:01:24,200
God damn it. My life has value.

19
00:01:26,200 --> 00:01:31,480
So I want you to get up now. I want all of you to get up out of your chairs. I want

20
00:01:31,480 --> 00:01:36,640
you to get right up now and go to your laptop, microphone, audacity, fire it up,

21
00:01:36,680 --> 00:01:42,240
stick it in your ear and yell. I'm mad as hell. And I want to quit my day job.

22
00:01:42,760 --> 00:01:45,880
Are you ready for the audition? Step up and take it.
